About the North Carolina Volleyball Coaches Association

On July 27, 2016, Coach Brian Rosen of Providence High School in Charlotte, North Carolina had a vision for an association for high school volleyball coaches that would foster community, advocacy, and recognition for student-athletes and coaches across the state.  With the assistance of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), a series of organizational meetings in November, 2016 and January, 2017 led to the formation of a board of directors who subsequently voted to form the North Carolina Volleyball Coaches Association as a 501c3 non profit association.  On June 14, 2017, the North Carolina Volleyball Coaches Association (NCVBCA) was officially recognized by the Secretary of State's office of the state of North Carolina as non profit corporate entity.

The American Volleyball Coaches Association shall offer to state organizations the opportunity to become an affiliate member of the AVCA.  Affiliates shall be state associations of interscholastic volleyball coaches interested in the development of the sport.  The AVCA shall also offer to states without organized coaches associations the opportunity for the AVCA to plan, organize and manage a state high school coaches clinic to serve as an opportunity to begin conversations about starting a state high school coaches association.  After the successful development of the state coaches association following the AVCA sponsored clinic, affiliate partnership with the AVCA would be offered to the state.
