Through the KVCA's Signature Affiliate Partnership with the AVCA, coaches need only complete one nomination form in order for their teams to qualify for both the AVCA and KVCA Team Academic Awards.  The deadline to nominate is Friday, June 29 @ 5pm ET.  Should a coach need assistance or an extension on the nomination deadline, please contact Betsey McCamish at the AVCA.

Here are the requirements to qualify for the award:

  • Each varsity team must maintain a minimum cumulative team grade-point average during the entire 2017-18 academic year.  The minimums are as follows: 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), a 4.10 (on a 5.0 scale), or an 82 (on a 100-point scale).

  • All athletes who competed in any dates of VARSITY competition during the traditional volleyball season must be included in the nomination.

  • Junior Varsity, Freshmen, and Middle School teams are not eligible for this award.  However, Boys teams are eligible!

  • Active AVCA and KVCA membership.  Membership can be completed ONLINE HERE or by registering for the KVCA COACHES CLINIC HERE.
Each program that meets the minimum requirement will also be recognized as an AVCA Team Academic award recipient, be featured in the 2018 Team Academic publication that is distributed nationally, and receive access to the AVCA Awards Certificate Database in August to download and print their award certificate at their leisure.
