KVCA Selects New President

The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association Board of Directors have unanimously selected Daniel Cortner, head coach at Caldwell County High School, to become acting KVCA President effective immediately. Cortner replaces KVCA founder Mitzi Donhoff.  Donhoff will remain on the KVCA Board of Directors and continue to assist with the annual KVCA All-State selections. 

As President, Cortner becomes the chief executive officer of the Association.  Duties include control over business functions of the Association, preside over all Association meetings and events,administer and present the annual KVCA All-State Awards, and represent KVCA member coaches to the KHSAA and other organizations.

2017 KVCA All State Awards
The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association is pleased to announce its 2017 All-State Teams and Ms. Kentucky Volleyball.  Each team features at least two athletes from both AA and A programs.

KVCA All State Teams are voted on by KVCA member coaches.


2017 KVCA Regional Awards
The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association is proud to announce its tenth-annual Region Players and Coaches of the Year.  All recipients will be honored at the 2017 KHSAA State Tournament at Valley High School in Louisville during ceremonies between the semi-final matches on Saturday, November 4.

Selections were voted on by KVCA member coaches.

Reminder: The KVCA will name ONE All State First Team, ONE Second Team and ONE Honorable Mention Team.  Each team will recognize 16 athletes with a minimum of 2A and 2AA players.

The press release announcing the First Team and Second Team All-State honorees and Miss Kentucky Volleyball will be distributed on Monday, November 6.

2017 Top 25 Preseason Poll Released!
KVCA Team Academic Award

The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association is proud to announce the inaugural winners of the 2017 KVCA Team Academic Award.  Through a Signature Affiliate Patnership with the American Volleyball Coaches Association, the team being recognized were able to maintain academic excellence for the entire 2016/17 academic school year.  To qualify, teams must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.  Nominations for the award took place throughout the month of June and were accepted by the AVCA.

2017 KVCA Coaches Clinic
The 2017 KVCA Coaches Clinic was a great success.  Thank you to all of the coaches that presented and were able to attend!  Hopefully we will have an even better turnout next year.

The Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association (KVCA) is a proud member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Signature Affiliate Program.  The KVCA was established as an AVCA Affiliate Partner and now joins the New York Volleyball Coaches Association and the Nebraska Coaches Association-Volleyball as AVCA Signature Affiliate states. The AVCA Signature Affiliate Program was established in 2015 and is designed to incentivize AVCA membership, advance the high school volleyball community, and establish the AVCA as the official coaching education partner with the states that participate in the program.
